The WorldPride Amsterdam Surprise

On Saturday, August 1, Madonna surprised fans by bringing out Kylie Minogue for a special performance during WorldPride Amsterdam 2026. The surprise appearance took place at Amsterdam’s AFAS Live as part of Madonna’s Club Confessions shows, which celebrate her Billboard 200 No. 1 album, Confessions II. The 30-minute set followed performances by Honey Dijon and Bebe Rexha.

Minogue, wearing a flowing purple top and silver pants, joined the stage to perform “Love Sensation,” a track from the new album. While the studio version of the song does not feature the Australian star, the pair delivered a rare live collaboration of the track, which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Airplay chart for the Aug. 8-dated issue. Following the duet, Minogue remained on stage as Madonna closed her set with “Sorry” and “Hung Up.” The performance of “Sorry” marked the first time the track from the 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor had been performed live since 2008.

Following the live debut of their collaboration, Madonna announced on Monday morning, August 3, that a studio version of the duet is scheduled for release. Titled “Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix) — Madonna & Kylie,” the remix was produced by Stuart Price. The official release is set for Thursday, August 6, at 3 p.m. ET. This updated release date was moved forward from the originally planned Friday drop.

The collaboration represents a significant moment for the Pop icons, who have each maintained global careers spanning more than four decades. Although rumors had persisted that Minogue would appear on the Confessions II album prior to its July 3 release, the singer had previously denied the reports in May.

Social Media Celebration and Collaboration History

Both artists took to social media to celebrate the Amsterdam performance. Madonna shared a series of photos on Instagram documenting the weekend, including shots of the two singers in royal purple outfits leaning into each other in the back of a car. The post also included images of the pair conferring with producer Stuart Price backstage and a final photo of the two hugging.

The WorldPride appearance marks only the second time the two superstars have shared a stage. Their first live collaboration occurred in March 2024 during Madonna’s Celebration Tour stop in Los Angeles. During that event, they performed a cover of Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” and Minogue’s hit “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.”

The WorldPride Music Festival was produced by American promoter Jake Resnicow in partnership with Insomniac Events. The organizers emphasized the importance of the event as a space for community and authenticity.
