Yandel, born Llandel Veguilla Malavé on January 14, 1977, in Cayey, Puerto Rico, is one half of the renowned reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel. The pair rose to significant mainstream success with their 2005 album, Pa'l Mundo.

Yandel and Wisin began their musical journey together in the late 1990s, with Yandel initially performing under the name "Llandel." They released their debut album, Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio, in 2000. Their move to a major label came in 2003 with the release of Mi Vida... My Life, their first album under Universal's subsidiary, Machete Music. The subsequent release of Pa'l Mundo in 2005 marked their breakthrough into widespread popularity.
