Carolina Giraldo Navarro, known professionally as Karol G, is a prominent Colombian singer and songwriter who has become a defining figure in the global reggaeton and Latin trap scenes. While her core sound is rooted in urban genres, she has frequently explored diverse musical styles, including reggae and sertaneja. Since her debut, she has earned significant industry recognition, including the Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2018 and numerous nominations for the Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Born and raised in Medellín, Colombia, Giraldo began her musical journey as a teenager. In 2004, at the age of 14, she appeared on the Colombian version of The X Factor, which provided her first taste of the spotlight. In 2014, she moved to New York City to further her knowledge of the music industry and refine her craft. This move eventually led to her signing with Universal Music Latino, marking the start of her professional recording career on a major label.
