Willi Carlisle is a poet and folk singer whose work champions community and shared human experience. Influenced by artists like Utah Phillips, Carlisle uses his lyrical talent not for pretension, but to foster connection and mutual care. His second album, Peculiar, Missouri, is a significant work featuring twelve tracks that explore the power of love to overcome adversity.
Raised on the Midwestern plains, Carlisle emerged from a tradition of young men channeling resistance through music, transitioning from punk to folk. His passion for the rich ballads and tunes of the Ozarks, where he now resides, led him to explore the breadth of American musical history.
