Yu-Peter was a Russian supergroup formed in St. Petersburg in 2001. The band's inception brought together prominent musicians from the Russian rock scene: Vyacheslav Butusov, formerly of Nautilus Pompilius; Georgy Kasparyan, known for his work with Kino; Oleg Sakmarov, who had been part of Aquarium; and Eugene Kulakov from Poymannye Muravyedy.

The initial lineup recorded the single "Udarnaya Lyubov" (Striking Love) in 2001, followed by their debut album, "Imya Rek" (Name of Rivers), in 2003. Shortly after the album's release, Oleg Sakmarov departed from the group.
