Vinterriket

Vinterriket is the dark ambient music project of German artist Christoph Ziegler. Established in 1996, the project's name translates from Norwegian and Swedish to "The Winter Realm," reflecting its core artistic intent: to capture the darker aspects of nature through sound. While primarily known for its dark ambient compositions, Vinterriket's earlier works also incorporated elements of black metal, with later material exploring neofolk influences.

Christoph Ziegler is a prolific musician involved in numerous other creative endeavors. His diverse discography includes work with projects such as Atomtrakt, Nebelkorona, Dânnâgôischd, Sturmpercht, and Battle Dagorath. He has also been associated with the bands Fräkmündt (Switzerland), ThruByRed (Switzerland), Nocternity (Greece), and Graven (Germany).
