Opal

Opal was a Los Angeles-based psychedelic band recognized for their contribution to the Paisley Underground scene. Their music blended rich vocal harmonies with intricate guitar interplay, drawing heavily from a folk-rock aesthetic.

The band initially formed in 1983 under the name Clay Allison. The original lineup featured David Roback, formerly of Rain Parade, bassist Kendra Smith from Dream Syndicate, and drummer Keith Mitchell. Following the release of a single, the remaining Clay Allison recordings were reissued under the newly christened band name, Opal.
