Andrew Roachford, born January 22, 1965, in South London to West Indian parents, is a singer-songwriter whose career has spanned decades. He first gained prominence as the frontman for the band Roachford, which was centered around his distinctive vocal talents and songwriting.

Roachford achieved significant success, earning four gold-status albums and becoming Columbia Records' longest-serving recording artist. He amassed eleven Top 50 hits in the UK charts. His most enduring song is the 1988 release 'Cuddly Toy', which, upon its re-release a year later, climbed to number 4 in the UK charts. In 1994, he released the critically acclaimed album Permanent Shade Of Blue, which showcased his ability to blend pop, soul, blues, and rock with socially and politically conscious lyrics, achieving substantial sales.
