Elena Alexandra Apostoleanu, known professionally as Inna, was born on October 16, 1986, in Mangalia, Romania. Displaying a natural aptitude for singing from a young age, she spent her childhood in the Romanian village of Neptun. After completing high school, she enrolled at Constanta University.

Inna's debut single, "Hot," was released on October 12, 2008. The dance track quickly achieved the number one position on the charts in eight countries, a success that extended globally throughout 2009. Another single from the same album, "Love," also began to climb the charts, securing top positions.
