Loyle Carner, born Benjamin Gerard Coyle-Larner, is a highly regarded English hip hop artist hailing from South London. He is recognized for his deeply personal, confessional, and poetic rap style, often complemented by jazz-influenced production. His lyrical content explores themes of personal identity, family, grief, politics, and his experiences navigating ADHD and dyslexia.
Carner's sound is frequently characterized as "languid" and "introspective," skillfully merging elements of American hip hop and UK grime with a profound, "old-soul wisdom." Critics often praise the harmonious synergy between his lyrics and the musical arrangements.
