THE OTHER SIDE is a side project of Alan Mallery (of fusion act ZED) based in Denver, Colorado. He started writing the music for this project in 2005, and with himself on keyboards, saxophone, theremin and percussion, Lyle LaRaman (bass, guitar) and Lamar Neally (drums) an instrumental album with music influenced by acts like GENESIS and ELP was recorded; and October 2008 saw the release of their debut album "A Higher Vantage Point".

WHY IS THIS BAND LISTED AT PROGARCHIVES:

US outfit THE OTHER SIDE explore a brand of music heavily influenced by classic symphonic prog in general and GENESIS in particular, with minor elements from fusion and electronic music incorporated in their sound. The modern touch to the keyboards and the focus on distinct melodies and atmospheres made it natural for the Neo progressive team to approve this addition.
