History Reign UponUs

From Oxford United Kingdom

The band has been around since 2006 and has had a couple of line-up changes with former members Peter Harper and Ian Woodhouse leaving after a couple of years to pursue a different direction musically. They were replaced by Steven Hunt and Karl Herring respectively, leading to the line-up they have today, coming together to form an assault on the unassuming listener with each song bringing something different to the table.

It’s all pretty brutal, but flavoured with twists and turns when you least expect it and it’s packed with real feeling leaving an opportunity for the listener to really feel the song's temperament. You’ll find aggressive, angst filled moments as in ‘Kill the Jester’ and ‘Dead to the World’ as well as quite haunting vocal melodies and clean guitar, as in the track ‘Into Orbit’.

After a very busy year of live shows in 2009, RUU decided to take some time out to record an 11 track album, Her Majesty’s Infection, comprising a wide range of songs both old and new, blending aggression, melody, groove and djent, that really conveys the personality of the band.

On stage Reign UponUs totally engage their audience so it’s more of a collective effort, leaving the audience wanting more.

So listen to the album, come see them play live and step into the RUU Unit!
