History Baciamibartali

Post-punk band from Osimo (district of Ancona, Italy).

They start with the first formation in june 1981 with: Tarcisio Lancioni (voice), Francesco Guidobaldi (bass), Ido Borsini (guitar) and Carlo Lura (drums). Soon, for the first record, the group changes and Robert Clark replaces Ido Borsini at the guitar.

The first album is recorded in april 1982 (produced by the same Robert Clark, the new member) under form of split, as Baciamibartali and Winter Light (sort of b-side project of the band, sound between minimal synth and post-punk).

In 1984, with Stefano Mengascini on keyboards, they recorded a three songs 12” EP for Contempo Records (The Mournful Gloom). In 1992 Carlo and Francesco, with the help of Robert Clark on guitar and production, realized a 12 songs CD (Grey Sunset) for PH Records (NOT) distributed by Contempo International.

In 1993 the mexican label Opcion Sonica included a Grey Sunset song (Mother Rust) in the compilation Contempo 93. In the beginning of 1995 the band was dissolved.

On Christmas 1997 Carlo put together outtakes, demos and live material for their last official record. In 2009 the label Oltrelanebbiailmare publishes a sort of anthologic collection with all the songs of the first period (recorded as Baciamibartali and Winter Light) in a new and re-mastered version. At the beginning of the 2012 the Spittle Records label includes ‘The prediction’ in the compilation ‘New Wave Italiana 1980~1986’, sort of tribute to the band, like recognition to the importance of the group in the italian post-punk/new wave 80’s movement (they started their activity like one of the first post-punk bands of the country).
