History The Lost

There are at least 5 groups called the lost. 2 seems to have description.

1)

Formed 2004

Currently CA, United States

Members Sean Rosenthal (vocals), Tommy Love (guitar), Dom Macaluso (bass), Brandon Love (guitar)

Influences include The Cure and friends…not only that….but a certain kind of sufferance, traceable in the nostalgic world of dark 80’s new wave; a sort of “quiet desperation”, emerges between the lines. Songs that span the space between marked deep tones, and more soothing solutions through songs with a recognizable pop new wave structure, more often melancholic, and held together by dreamy lyrics which go beyond the damned and romantic, to dark and melancholic. Songs are written by Damiano Rossetti the group voice and guitar, as well as THE LOST’s founder,.

Donning the same heavy-hearted musical spirit of bands like The Cure and Morrissey, The Lost brings a contemporary feel to 80’s emo-rock, creating original yet familiar sounding musical compositions that pay tribute nicely to the genre.

2) Garage Rock, Formed October 1964, Burlington, VT, United States

Disbanded February 1967 // Boston, MA, United States

Members Ted Myers, Willie Alexander, Hugh Magbie, Tony Pfeiffer, Walter Powers, Lee Mason, Kyle Garrahan

3)

Formed in 1990 in New York, Disbanded in 1993

Members: Luke Janklow (Lead Guitar, Vocals), Gerry Stanek (Bass), Nate Schrock (Rythm Guitar), Frank Araneo (Drums)

They extensively toured across the United States opening acts for the likes of The Ramones, The Black Crowes, and Cheap Trick. They released a self-titled album The Lost in 1991 through Epic Records and toured Japan in support of it, releasing a live version with Sony. After their breakup Luke continued working as a musician in Darlahood until spring of 1999 when he quit the business for good and joined his father working with Janklow & Nesbit Associates, a publisher which he is now president of. Gerry Stanek joined The Outcry, worked with Norman Nardini and played briefly as a solo act before leaving the music business for a while. He worked as a telemarketer, disc jockey, and truck driver until he got his formal education, earning a Master of Fine Arts in fiction from Warren Wilson College in 2018. He has released two autobiographies and returned to the music industry with the LP Heart in Peril following it up with an EP Grease and Dust and Blood and several singles since. He is currently living in Greensboro NC and working as a teacher. Sadly, not much information can be found for the other two members. I have found a Nathan Schrock MD, but this cannot be guaranteed to be the same person.
