History Tuareg Geeks
Mexican noise makers, the Tuareg Geeks, Paco and Santiago met in high school in 2001. Santiago was just 15 then, but he was tired of every local band he had listened to. Everything was the fucking same, too boring, predictable and boring. So, they made a band and later called it Tuareg Geeks.
The influences were everything, both have an extremely eclectic musical taste. From jazz to grind, to rap, to classical music, punk, hardcore techno, noise and many other shit. The goal with tuareg geeks was just to sound weird and make shitty music to demonstrate no talent or money was needed in the music business. It was more like a protest against the lack of creativity and originality seen in Mexico than a real band. All without taking themselves seriously.
Since the beginning they’re style and sound were different, so different that they weren’t allowed to play at parties until they met with the local underground electronic scene. With Gabbermex, and Esfinter organising gigs, now the Geeks had a space to disturb people with their noise.
They released an EP on small English label “Beergut Recordings in 2002 and god knows what happened with that. After that they stared playing at the few downtown clubs interested in that kind of that kind of crap and became known as the punks that ruined the parties. Of course there were some people who understood the geeks and kept inviting them to play at their parties.
The geeks now had another member Ricardo, who played the guitar in their live performances. Since the early days of TG Paco and Santiago wanted to be on Digital Hardcore so they sent them a demo, which was more like a joke and was full of very bad music, but the guys at DHR liked it.
The geeks had appeared in some compilations released by Poro sound and Esfinter during these years. Including a tribute to Ant-Zen artist.
