History
Thrasher Shiver was an American country music duo composed of singer-songwriters Neil Thrasher and Kelly Shiver. In late 1996, they released one album for Asylum Records, and charted two singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. Neil Thrasher has since begun a solo career as a songwriter, having penned singles for Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, and several other country music artists.
Thrasher Shiver was founded in 1995, when singer-songwriters Neil Thrasher and Kelly Shiver were introduced to each other by Bob Doyle, owner of a management company who managed Garth Brooks. When the two began writing and singing songs together, the two discovered that their voices blended well, so they decided to form a duo. Thrasher Shiver was noted for the fact that, unlike in most country duos at the time, both of its members sang lead vocals alternatingly.
