History The Party on High Street

Since it’s founding in Nelson, B.C. four years ago, The Party on High Street has been working relentlessly to bring its ‘feel-good’ funk rock to audiences everywhere.

The band has recorded three albums by themselves in a variety of basement and semi-professional studios. November 2011 the band recorded their debut studio album titled ‘Organized’ with producer Ryan Hadlock at Bear Creek Studios. In a review of the album, the University of Victoria’s student paper, The Martlet stated:

‘Though Organized is rooted firmly in the funk-rock of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Primus, there is a breezy, fun Island vibe running through the whole album that those bands and others like them lack… Bouncy, silky guitar riffs drive the music along at a furious pace. The Party on High Street rarely gives the listener a break from rump-wigglin’. Even when they let the music slow down, the underlying groove is still strong.’

The Party on High Street has toured western Canada extensively and has generated a large and loyal following from Ucluelet B.C. to Edmonton Alberta and everywhere in between.
