History
A new trio formed by three experienced musicians Dede Priest - vocals, violin Jasper Mortier - drums Jan Mittendorp - guitar An original line-up plus all original songs. Raw and simple with a deep love for American roots music. They have a broad taste and an open mind so a lot of musical influences will come by. Despite the short existence of this trio they have already shows scheduled in Holland, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, France, Romania, Poland, Sweden and Austria. The first CD (DREAM WALL) was released on Black and Tan Records in January 2014
DEDE PRIEST grew up in Dallas, Texas. As a little girl, she would sing along to whatever she could find, but it was the rawness of Blues and Gospel that shaped her talent the most. Moving to Austin, Texas, she earned a degree in Philosophy then followed her heart and let the music lead. In Austin, Texas, Dede began singing professionally, sharing the stage with Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Leon Russell, Tommy Shannon, and Harry Belafonte, among others. Touring in the USA and all over Europe, Dede Priest has performed at events such as Rhythm & Blues Night Oosterpoort (NL), Peer Bluesfestival (B), Simply Blues Viana (PT), Trasimeno Blues Festival (I), Martin Luther King Keynote (USA). Classically trained on the violin, she has always wanted to add her “2nd” instrument to the mix. With Tangled Eye, she is finally living her dream of singing and playing her violin.
