Biography Jason Berk

Jason Berk is a critically acclaimed multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter whose music has been featured on renowned radio station KFOG 104.5. He has performed at venues such as Rooster's Roadhouse and San Francisco's legendary Biscuits & Blues club, and he has been a regular guest host on Steven Seaweed's "Bone Up On The Beatles" program on the Bay Area's 107.7 The Bone.

Born in New Jersey and raised in the Bay Area, Jason was gifted with a musical upbringing, with a musician for a father and a musically supportive mother. Through the years, Jason has proven himself to be a musical tour-de-force, teaching himself guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, ukulele, mandolin, and banjo. He is currently studying under John Pisano, a legendary guitarist in his own right, who has performed with such luminaries as Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra.

Jason is also active with former classmate Monica Lee as acoustic duo The Goners, who received minor press when they held a special performance of The Beatles’ Let It Be album. After a string of successful shows, the band went on hiatus in Summer 2011 so that Jason and Monica could focus on their studies. Additionally, Jason has composed scores for several plays, including a 2009 production of Howard Richardson and William Berney’s Dark Of The Moon.

In 2010 Jason released his first CD, The Next Meal, a collection of original songs and covers. He made his acclaimed debut performance as a solo artist that Winter, an event which inspired him to record a follow-up, the critically lauded Afternoon Snacks, which earned Jason praise from Rosalie Howarth of San Francisco’s legendary KFOG radio station, who said "[Jason's] on the road...he's got songwriting chops." He released his first all-original EP, Second Helpings, on iTunes in October 2011, and his third full-length album is expected in early 2012. His music is available for download via his website, jasonberk.bandcamp.com or on iTunes.
