Biography Graeham Goble

Graeham Goble was born in Adelaide, South Australia, on May 15th, 1947. He has been writing and recording music - rich, textured, harmonic, evocative music - for more than thirty five years.

As a founding member and driving force within LITTLE RIVER BAND, Graeham participated in an extraordinary surge of success, which resulted in more than 25 million record sales, 13 American Top-40 hits (six of them top ten and five consecutive top fifty American albums, three of which were platinum). Today, Graeham has no less than 40 gold or platinum plaques in his Melbourne studio. As the vocal arranger and high harmony singer in what Eagle Glenn Frey once described as "the best singing band in the world", he mastered deftly constructed songs, rich in emotion and enduring in appeal.

Graeham stands alone in Australian music with the distinction of having penned eight U.S. Top-40 hits, and having earned four rare 'Million-Air' awards from BMI for one million American broadcasts each for "Reminiscing" (hailed by John Lennon as one of his favourite songs), "Lady", "Take It Easy On Me" & "The Other Guy". Frank Sinatra said "Reminiscing" was "the best 1970's song in the World". "Reminiscing" has become such a standard on American airwaves that it has now been recognized by a Four Million-Air award, an absolute first for an Australian-based writer, and "Lady" achieved 3 million airplays as of April 2007. Fifty-Eight of his songs have had airplay in America, and total airplays now stand at 12 Million.

In the twenty-first century, Graeham is working in sound with a greater fervour than ever before. "I've realised that I can make better records on my own" he states frankly. "I'm finding chords I've never played before; I'm letting my fingers find things I didn't know were there."

In October 2004, Graeham, along with 'The Classic Line-up' of LITTLE RIVER BAND (consisting of Beeb Birtles, Glenn Shorrock, Derek Pellicci, George McArdle, David Briggs, and Graeham), was inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.

In August 2006, Graeham was inducted into the Australian Songwriters Association Hall Of Fame.

In September 2006, Graeham's new CD, "The Days Ahead" featuring all vocals from Graeham for the first time, was released by ORiGiN Music.

Graeham makes his home in a Melbourne suburb with his four children - Elisha, Joshua, Nathan & Charlotte. Graeham, along with fellow LITTLE RIVER BAND alumni Beeb Birtles and Glenn Shorrock, have been touring and performing together as BIRTLES SHORROCK GOBLE (or BSG for short) since 2002 throughout their native Australia.
